The French foreign minister stressed on the importance of finding a resolution to the crisis and called for lifting all the measures that affect bi-national families and civilians.
Per Reuters' Mitch Phillips, the six Arab nations-United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Egypt, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Mauritania-that severed relations with Qatar last month want Qatar removed as host of the World Cup, deeming it a "base of terrorism".
The six Arab countries who last month cut ties with Qatar are reported to have written to world soccer's governing body Federation Internationale de Football Association to demand it be stripped of hosting the 2022 World Cup because they consider the Gulf state to be a "base of terrorism".
The defiant Doha government, however, strongly refused to comply, calling the wide-ranging demands "unrealistic, unreasonable and unacceptable".
"France should be a facilitator in the mediation" led by Kuwait, Le Drian told reporters following talks with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

However, the district created a "homework committee" to examine the homework loads for elementary school students. Furthermore, the research urges educators to let the children choose what they want to read every day.
"We hope to resolve this crisis within the Gulf house, and we hope that wisdom prevails for our brothers in Qatar in order to respond to the demands of the global community - not just of the four countries", he said.
Infantino also said the countries have threatened to boycott the tournament should their request not be acted upon. Le Drian said that France would be part of the Kuwait-led mediation to help resolve the crisis.
Le Drian, who has already met with Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, also said Paris "is very concerned by the sudden deterioration in relations between Qatar and many of its neighbors".
Later in the day, he flew to Jeddah, where he repeated his concerns about the effects of the standoff in a televised press appearance with Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir.
