While the BCCI had named Zaheer Khan (bowling) and Rahul Dravid (batting) as consultants to assist head coach Ravi Shastri based on Cricket Advisory Committee's recommendations, the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators hasn't ratified the decision.
The CAC equally assessed all the candidates, but the reason Shastri won the race was his understanding of the work ethic put in place by the existing support staff members who have worked with the team for close to three years, according to the report.

As far as Arun is concerned, the CoA has made it clear that he and other support staff will have to resolve all conflict-of-interest issues before assuming charge. "In fact there are individuals who understand the needs of team members on an individual basis", Kohli explained.
A senior BCCI official told media that COA had agreed to Shastri's request to appoint Bharat Arun as the full-time bowling coach and the former India fast bowlers first assignment would be the Test series against Sri Lanka.
