It's therefore a pretty big deal when such a successful model undergoes a major restyle, and Honda has probably gone a little further with its recently unveiled 2018 Accord than some commentators may have expected.
With three advanced powertrains, including all-new 1.5L and 2.0L turbocharged and a next generation two-motor hybrid system, this Accord will be the most fun-to-drive and fuel-efficient model yet. The latter one makes 250PS and 370Nm of peak torque, while the smaller motor churns out 189PS and 260Nm.
Transmission choices include a continuously variable transmission, a 6-speed manual or 10-speed automatic.
American Honda Motor Automobile Division of senior vice president Jeff Conrad said: "We are redefining the Honda Accord for a new generation of buyers by bringing something unexpected that challenges the idea of what a mainstream sedan can be". However, the 2018 model of Honda accord will not be offered in the existing 3.5-litre, V-6 and the 2.4-litre, I-4. And for those wanting a more eco-friendly and fuel-efficient Accord, the new 2018 Accord Hybrid will be available in Hybrid, EX, EX-L, EX-L Navi and Touring trims.

The all-new accord has got several changes including a more provocative design, improved dimensions as well as new and more efficient engine options.
The wheelbase has been elongated in the 2018 model by 50mm and the width has also been increased by 10mm, while the roofline is lower by 15mm. The vehicle will also get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity options.
The delivery of the 2018 model is expected to start in the United States soon; however, it is not expected to replace the Indian model anytime soon since the last model was just launched a year ago.
Honda might have discontinued the Accord in some markets over the past year or two, but it's still a big success in other places such as the United States where it's now the biggest-selling model in the midsize sedan segment of the market.
