The New York Times reported that 34 people were injured in the derailment with 17 transported to hospitals for minor injuries.
Two track maintenance supervisors were suspended overnight following a subway derailment in Harlem Tuesday and all-night fix work. They are suspended without pay pending a formal review process. They hope to restore normal scheduled service in time for the morning rush on Wednesday.
'People were in and out of their seats all over screaming, power went out and then it stopped and the vehicle filled up with smoke, ' another stressed-out straphanger said.
All disabled trains were evacuated by noon, said MTA officials - about two hours after initial reports hit social media.
